Taking wind sensor off Rev P board

Post by hfrebel »

Hello
for my project I'd like to remove the board sensor (I ordered Rev P), and replace it with an external thermistor connected by leads. I expect this would require recalibration, that's fine. What sort of specification for the thermistor should I be looking for?

Send your address to support@moderndevice.com and we’ll send you some sensors.

The BOM is not public

However adding leads will change the way it works just a bit too, adding some thermal resistance.

I’d rather see you cut off the sensing stalk and resolder those wires back together - and I think it will be slightly less pain - but maybe not

You need 30 ga wire and some patience along with soldering skills.
Use a utility knife and patience to cut through the board between the headers
Use patience - don’t try to cut through on one go - just a ruler and lots of little passes.
