DIP Socket
DIP Socket
Where can I find a socket for the atmega368 that this comes with? Even though the picture shows a socket I didn't get one. I thought I found one but it was a little too wide. RadioShack doesn't have one that size.

My BBB came with two 14-pin dip sockets that I installed end-to-end. These should be readily available at Radio Shack.

Re: DIP Socket
Paul, I sent you a PM. However, I am having a hard time finding the mouser or digikey part number for the right size socket. I went to my local RadioShack and they no longer carry some componant stuff.
Re: DIP Socket
Email Brian,I am sorry, I was mistaken. I bought my RBBB through wulfden. I thought it was here. Eitherway, does anyone have a source?
I'm sure he'll be glad to send you one. The digikey number is AE10286-ND, but I think they have a $5 adder for orders under $25 so it might cost you $10 for an 83 cent part. I tend to use usps shipping to save money there.
Check out the vector board there - to complete a minimum order - You can get a large piece then cut it up for many projects. It beats the Radio Shack junk all the hell.
