Direction-sensitive wind measurement
Direction-sensitive wind measurement
I want to measure wind velocity, ie speed and direction. To do this I plan to mount 4 sensors in 4 tubes pointing N, E, S and W. The tubes need to be as small as possible. So I need to know how little of the sensor has to be in the tube. What are the functions of the 3 components mounted on the "prongs"? I assume that temperature measurement components can be out of the main air flow.
Re: Direction-sensitive wind measurement
Correct, as long as they are in ambient air somewhere.I assume that temperature measurement components can be out of the main air flow.

Re: Direction-sensitive wind measurement
Thanks. But is the only bit that measures air flow the loop on the longer stalk?
Re: Direction-sensitive wind measurement
Correct, the other bits are about ambient temperature correction.Thanks. But is the only bit that measures air flow the loop on the longer stalk?
