JeeNode 915 kits

Post by mdAndy »

I bought two JeeNode 915 kits V5 and for the qty 4 6 pin female I/O headers they had
right angle connectors. They should be straight. (both kits)
Any reason why? :o

Mine came with right-angle.
No biggie, you can use either straight or angled, depending on how you solder them to the board.

No biggie? All the information, I have seen shows straight headers and I expected straight headers.
I paid for straight headers.

No biggie to me- they're dirt cheap and are typically found in a hobbyist's kit.

Right-angle headers (especially female) are easily straightened out with pliers - and give users the possibility of either orientation. Jean-Claude Wippler of JeeLabs is more inclined to solder straight headers on surface-mount style at right angles. We think having more mechanically robust headers are a good idea.

In either case, if you don't already have a good pair of needle-nose or thin-nose pliers, you could use one.
